TICUA Awards

Since 1996 TICUA has had a program of awards presented to recognize exemplary leadership and dedicated service on behalf of Tennessee's independent colleges and universities. TICUA presents three awards:

The William Baird Legislative Leadership Award is presented to a state senator who has shown distinguished support for higher education. Senator Baird championed the bill that created the Tennessee Tuition Grant program, the State's first need-based financial aid program and a precursor of the Tennessee Student Aid Award (TSAA).

The Harold Bradley Legislative Leadership Award is presented to a state representative who has shown distinguished support for higher education. Representative Bradley championed the bill that created the Tennessee Tuition Grant program, the State's first need-based financial aid program and a precursor of the Tennessee Student Aid Award (TSAA).

The TICUA Congressional Award for Excellence in Education Policy is presented to a US Senator or US Representative from Tennessee who has shown distinguished support for higher education.
