Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association

Private Colleges Serving Tennessee

Tennessee's private colleges are committed to being strong, engaged members of their communities and pass this value on to their students.

Each spring, the Corporation for National and Community Service recognizes colleges and universities across the nation that excel in community service. This spring, 18 Tennessee institutions, including 12 members of the Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association were recognized.

Carson-Newman College received recognition as one of five institutions nationally to receive the group's highest honor - the U.S. Presidential Award. Rhodes College was one of 12 institutions nationally to be placed on the Honor Roll as a finalist.
