Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association

Private Colleges Serving Tennessee

Tennessee's Independent Colleges and Universities are Flexible
TICUA member colleges and universities offer a wide variety of educational opportunities to Tennesseans.
TICUA member institutions have partnered with the State on the Tennessee Transfer Pathways initiative providing community college students the opportunity to transfer to a private college to complete their bachelor's degree without loss of time or credit.
In the fall of 2011,  over 1,200 community college students transferred to a TICUA member institution.
Private colleges and universities don't just serve traditional-aged students. About 1 in 5 of their undergraduate students are age 25 or older.
With 34 main campuses and 75 satellite and off-site degree programs in rural and urban areas, Tennessee's independent colleges and universities enroll students from every county in the State.
