Diane Berty Hired as TICUA Vice President


Nashville, TN—Dr. Diane Berty has been tapped to become vice president of the Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association (TICUA). In her role, Dr. Berty will work to provide strategic leadership for the organization focusing on member services, professional development, and collaborations. She will oversee the Benefit Consortium and CHASCo. Trained as both a Nurse Practitioner and Higher Education Administrator, Dr. Berty brings a wide range of experiences and skills to her new role.


Most recently, Dr. Berty served as the Vice President of Student Development at East Central University in Oklahoma. However, in joining the TICUA staff she will be returning to Tennessee. From 1978 until 2007, Dr. Berty worked at Austin Peay State University in various roles, including Associate Vice President. Her areas of experience include advancement, career services, enrollment management, facilities, financial aid, health services and student life. She has served as faculty for both on-ground and on-line courses.

TICUA President Dr. Claude O. Pressnell, Jr said that he was pleased to hire someone of Diane's caliber. "Her experiences and skills match nicely with the direction that the Association is taking. I expect that Diane will be able to excel at her role and allow TICUA to continue to serve the member institutions well."
