Watkins College of Art, Design & Film is a four-year baccalaureate college offering a Bachelor of Fine Arts in film, fine art, graphic design, interior design, and photography; a Bachelor of Arts in art; and Certificates in film and interior design. The faculty and staff are committed to a learning-centered environment that challenges students to engage the mind, train the eye, and cultivate talent and skill into an active realization of creative potential. Since its establishment in 1885, Watkins has continuously shaped the cultural horizon through studio-based visual art instruction supported by a strong academic foundation, as well as through year-round Community Education program for youth and adults and free gallery exhibitions, artist lectures, and film screenings. Watkins’ 13-acre lakeside campus, just minutes from downtown Nashville, includes a 60,000-square-foot academic building, boardwalk, and two residence halls.
