Watkins College of Art is a four-year baccalaureate college offering a Bachelor of Fine Arts in film, fine art, graphic design, illustration, interior design, and photography; a Bachelor of Arts in art; and a Master of Fine Arts in film and visual arts. Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, as well as the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, Watkins challenges individuals to deepen their talent, refine their creative practice, and dedicate their lives to advancing culture through the illuminating power of art. Since its establishment in 1885, Watkins has aimed to continually shape the creative economy and cultural commons through rigorous academic programs, as well as through community education for youth and adults. Watkins offers a 73,000-square-foot academic, community, and art-making facility, including two contemporary silo studios designated for seniors; two state-of-the-art residence halls; and 13 acres of lakeside property in the heart of Nashville, one of the most vibrant cultural capitals in the United States.
