Watkins College of Art, Design & Film is a four-year baccalaureate college
offering a Bachelor of Fine Arts in film, fine art, graphic design, interior design,
and photography; a Bachelor of Arts in art; and an Master of Fine Arts in film.
Accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission
on Colleges, as well as the National Association of Schools of Art and Design,
Watkins is committed to a learning-centered environment that challenges
students to engage the mind, train the eye, and cultivate talent and skill into an
active realization of creative potential. Since its establishment in 1885, Watkins
has continuously shaped the cultural horizon through studio-based visual art
instruction supported by a strong academic foundation, as well as through a yearround
community education program for youth and adults, free gallery exhibitions,
artist lectures, and film screenings. Watkins’s 13-acre lakeside campus, just minutes
from downtown Nashville, includes a 60,000-square-foot academic building,
b o ardwalk, and two residence halls.
