With a heritage lasting over 120 years, Johnson University is a Christian
community with a rich history in service and academics. Johnson University
offers undergraduate and graduate programs that (1) center upon the knowledge,
application, and appreciation of the Christian scriptures; (2) seek understanding
and appreciation of diverse cultural contexts as well as developing skills to
communicate within those contexts; and (3) provide vocational options aimed at
engaging students in congregational ministries and other strategic callings. At
Johnson University all undergraduate students major in Bible, engage in a solid
core of Arts and Sciences courses, and complete a professional major or minor.
Areas of study include congregational ministry, the humanities, teacher education,
counseling, communication, music, business administration, intercultural studies,
public health, leadership, and management of nonprofit organizations. At the
Tennessee campus, a majority of full-time faculty, staff, and students live on
campus, providing a vibrant and deeply connected community.
