Freed-Hardeman University is committed to its mission of helping students develop
their God-given talents for His glory by empowering them with an education that
integrates Christian faith, scholarship, and service. In addition to small classes
taught by faculty dedicated to faith-based learning, there are special programs
designed to help students engage in the mission outside of the classroom,
including study abroad, individual and small group scientific research, the Honors
College, a business investment team that manages a $1 million stock portfolio, and
the Engaged Learning Initiative that allows students to apply for institutional funds
to pursue self-directed projects connecting the classroom to the real world.
With locations in Henderson, Memphis, and Dickson, the University offers six
baccalaureate degrees in 38 undergraduate majors and 58 programs of study. FHU
also offers master’s, specialist’s, and doctoral degrees. The Southern Association of
Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges has accredited the university since
1956, and various schools and programs within the university have specialized
