Christian Brothers University, founded in 1871, is a Catholic institution of higher education in the tradition of the De La Salle Christian Brothers. The first private institution in Memphis to integrate, it has always welcomed people of all faiths. The University prepares students for professional careers and lives of moral responsibility and constructive community involvement. Based on critical thinking, hands-on experience, and ethical context, CBU’s powerful learning environment spreads across all academic areas—from science and engineering to liberal arts and business. Students work alongside practitioners in their field in an actual work environment, building invaluable knowledge and skills, and students across all majors participate in professional research as undergraduates. CBU offers undergraduate programs in engineering, business, sciences, liberal arts, nursing, and education as well as graduate programs in business administration, education, Catholic studies, engineering management, computer information systems, and physician assistant studies.
