Carson-Newman's faculty are scholar-mentors who imbue their students with faith
and knowledge and who instill critical thinking that helps students reach their
full potential as educated citizens and worldwide servant-leaders. The University's
student-to-faculty ratio ensures a nurturing academic community in and out of the
classroom, whether students are studying on campus or online. Carson-Newman
was named a "Great School at a Great Price" by US News & World Report. The University
offers vast study-abroad and mission opportunities and a thriving honors program. In
2013 it created the Eagles Scholars program for student-athletes. The University offers
50 undergraduate majors and 11 graduate degree programs. The University was cited
as a "College of Distinction" and "Christian College of Distinction," by the Colleges of
Distinction organization. It also was named to the President's Honor Roll for Service by
the US Department of Education for the fifth straight year. Carson-Newman is a diverse
campus community with students from 34 countries and most states. It offers students
70 campus organizations, 40 intramural sports, and 19 NCAA Division II sports.
